Homeport of Cruise Ship Oasis of the Seas

Most of the cruise ships that are owned and operated by the Royal Caribbean International make Miami as their home port. However, for Oasis of the Seas, Port Everglades is her home. The cruise ship whose gross tonnage is 220,000 ton and the number of staterooms is 2700 needs larger port with more service areas to accommodate thousands of her guests (approx. 5400 passengers in double occupancy rooms). Oasis of the Seas will stay at Terminal 18 of Port Everglades. To accommodate the largest cruise ship in the world, authorities of the port expanded the terminal's interior space from 67,500 square feet to 240,000 square feet. With that expansion, passengers will only need around 15 minutes to embark.

Port Everglades is located within 2 miles from Fort Lauderdale - Hollywood International Airport. Strategically it is within the cities of Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, and Dania beach, Florida. As US hub for international trading, Port Everglades is a busy container port in Florida.
Beside the Oasis cruise ship, the second Oasis-class ship that makes Port Everglades as her home port is the Allure of the Seas. Both of them are operated by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCL)
